Simon Johnson and Sita Cox have been in Chambers since it was founded in 1990 by a handful of barristers. Stour Chambers is now an integral part of the local legal community. When you make the initial call to Stour Chambers, one of our friendly clerks will help you identify the most appropriate counsel for your case. All briefs are processed quickly and efficiently.
Conferences can be held either in our modern, comfortable meeting room (on ground floor) or, for your client's convenience, at your offices. We also have the facilities for telephone conferences.
For research purposes, we have a well stocked library and full internet facilities, giving us access to a wealth of material including on-line law reports. In addition, we have long-established links with the Law School and the Law Clinic at the University of Kent, with members of Chambers acting as “Legal Advisers” for the Law Clinic.
We know that attendance at court can be stressful and intimidating for clients (and witnesses), so we do all we can to put them at ease. We give them the information they need to make the best decision for their situation. And we present the case in court skilfully and effectively
Our involvement does not end at the court door. We shall ensure that everyone is kept fully informed of the outcome of the hearing and make sure the documentation is completed. Where appropriate we will advise on the prospects of appeal quickly and efficiently.
