Stour Chambers has an ever growing Criminal Team. We undertake both prosecution and defence work at all levels. Our practitioners have had experience in dealing with all types of criminal offence. From Magistrates courts to Crown Courts we strive to provide a high quality of service. Our Ethos: We believe in providing assistance as soon as the brief or papers arrive in chambers. All briefs are acknowledged by counsel and an advice sent as to the future conduct of the case. Our practitioners are able to see clients (professional or lay clients) in Chambers or the offices of those instructing at an early stage and we will help with the complicated issues that arise under the Criminal Justice Act 2003.
In the Magistrates' Courts we have a legal aid fixed fee structure for straight forward one day cases, whilst in the Crown Court fees are governed by the Graduated Fee System. Our criminal clerks will be happy to assist with all aspects governing fees.
