Scope
Family law has always been a major area of activity for Stour Chambers and we are proud of our reputation for expertise in this field.
Our family practitioners offer a wide range of experience in all aspects of family law. In public law children proceedings, members of Chambers represent family members, local authorities and children. We represent all parties in private law children proceedings. Our other major area of practice is that of financial disputes arising from divorce and also in cases of cohabitees' property disputes, claims for children of unmarried parents and inheritance claims. Members of Chambers also appear in occupation order and personal protection injunction cases.
In addition to advocacy, members of Chambers are able to advise in writing, in conference at Chambers or elsewhere and over the telephone.
Members of Chambers have appeared in a number of reported family law cases. They have also published articles in professional journals, contributed to books and lectured in this field.
Fees
Our clerks are always happy to provide fees estimates and to agree charging rates that are appropriate to each case. Work within the Family Graduated Fees system of public funding can be undertaken and solicitor rates in the F.P.C if appropriate.
